Heard From Families Cradled Has Served

These are the words of real mothers, shared with gratitude and permission, from across the Seacoast region.

From the Families

In their own words.

I went into postpartum thinking I would be fine. I had read all the books, I had a supportive husband, I had family nearby. None of it prepared me for how isolating those first three weeks actually felt. Kourtney was the first person who treated my recovery as seriously as my pregnancy. By her third visit, I had stopped pretending I was fine and started actually getting better. She gave me that permission somehow, just by showing up.

Postpartum Support

My birth did not go the way I planned, and I came home feeling like my body had failed me. Kourtney never tried to talk me out of what I was feeling. She just sat with me in it, and then, very gently, she started pointing to what was working. She reframed everything without making it feel like reframing. That is a skill I don't fully understand, but I'm grateful for it.

Postpartum Support

We had twins. Kourtney came twice a week for the first eight weeks and I genuinely do not know how we would have managed without her. She knew which baby needed what before we did. She also cooked, and that sounds small until you realize that the first hot meal I ate postpartum was something she made in my kitchen while I nursed. I still think about that soup.

Nutrition & Nourishment

I hired Kourtney for two visits and ended up extending every single week for six weeks. It wasn't that I was incapable. It was that the support she offered was so specific, so attuned to our family, that stopping felt like a loss. She helped me understand that my anxiety about the baby's sleep was grief from my own lack of it. She made our home feel safe again.

Bespoke Support

I come from a culture where you don't ask for help, especially not for something as private as caring for a new baby. My mother was skeptical. My mother-in-law was skeptical. And then they met Kourtney, and something shifted. She felt more like a wise woman from a village we had all somehow forgotten we belonged to. After her first visit, my mother asked me if I could book more time.

What I remember most is the night Kourtney stayed late, not because she was scheduled to, but because she could see I was not okay. My husband was traveling. The baby wouldn't stop crying. I hadn't slept in two days. She just quietly said, 'I'm not leaving yet.' I've never forgotten that. Some people are just built for this work.
